Modeled after a traditional village, Tidepools typifies Hawaiian-style. Nestled at the base of a waterfall, Kauai’s most unique restaurant features thatched-roof bungalows that seemingly float above a colorful koi-filled lagoon. The Lounge at Tidepools represents the community dining area in a traditional village. Offering near 360 degree views and a variety of seating options, this is a great place to take in the brilliant colors of the sunset and moonrise while sipping wine from our 200 bottle wine cellar, a tempting tropical or beer. A tiki-torch lit evening and Kauai’s amazing starlit skies top the setting as the flavors of the Island come to life in each delectable dish.
Bringing a wealth of experience in fine dining to the Tidepools kitchen, Chef Kevin Horan took the helm earlier this year. Hailing from Vegas, Chef Kevin made the rounds at some of the top restaurants including working at the Mandarin Oriental and Michael Mina with his most recent gig as Sous Chef at Restaurant Guy Savoy. Guy Savoy is a Parisian 3-Michelin Star Chef whose dedication to the culinary arts is world renowned.
Being able to pursue your passion at one of Kauai’s most renowned restaurants is a dream come true, right? So when Chef Kevin was offered the Chef de Cuisine position at Tidepools, he leapt and has been able to meld his high-end experience with the unique foods found in the islands to elevate the cuisine by creating both subtle and bold flavor combinations.
